In 1962, Glen Bell launched the first Taco Bell in Downey, California, and today it forms part of the huge empire Yum! Brands. The chain foods offer Mexican inspired items, imagine tacos, burritos, quesadillas nachos and the whole range.
Here the weird detail: the original store of Bell did not offer tacos. In the start he sold only hamburgers and hot dogs.
Taco Bell: History, Food, Prices and Quality
The menu bases on foods prepared to order, that one can adjust freely. At some places one finds breakfasts, and overnight desires receive attention also. The section of specialties has the mainstream hits, the Chalupa and Crunchwrap are those items, that folks genuinely recall.
One has vegetarian options, sweet drinks from fountain and sweets to cover the bases. The Kalifornia Crunchwrap simply is a fresher variety of the classic, swapping average meat for steak, adding fried beans and guacamole, all wrapped in the same crunchy shell.
Getting food here happens easily. The app for your phone allows ordering ahead for pickup or delivery, without leaving the sofa. The finder on the website helps to find teh nearest store.
New foods appear quite often, and using the app genuinely simplifies everything.
Say it directly: Taco Bell does not offer real Mexican kitchen. It more likes to play with Mexican foods, a type of fast food. A simple crunchy taco and big burrito cost around six dollars, what is not terrible.
On the other hand, prices rose at many places. Some locations even dumped the combos for five, seven and nine dollars entirely.
Compared with other chains, Taco Bell still wins on money. Everywhere else the restaurants now cost a lot and require more to place the order. Taco Bell at least delivers good portions without emptying the purse.
The hole thing always dealt about speed and access.
The weak aspect? The quality suffered through the years. Before burritos were full and heavy.
Currently they simply are made up of a tortilla shell with cheese in second plan. But it is fast food, none claims something else. The meat, that they use, has USDA approval, same as that, what ends in hamburgers of fast food.
Classic stuff as crunchy tacos and burritos with cheap meats? Folks still talk about those favorites.
On another occasion, Taco Bell runs TBX, a program for bringing back cooking talents. It intends to help folks get involved about the next big ideas for tacos of the brand. The annual event of owners brings together teams of the company and franchisees, to discuss priorities and what genuinely works.
It is only for guests from the mainstream franchisees, and it strengthens the links between the topofficials and the contractors.
As everything in the world of fast food, the key is moderation. Eat a dozen tacos and three burritos daily? Probably not the best idea.
On the other hand, the foods of Taco Bell are safe to eat and even win place between the healthier options of fast food here.
